The Only Academy Where You
Learn & Investigate

The hiTHEK Engineering Academy is the advanced engineering education platform of the THEK ecosystem — the only school where the curriculum is directly connected to active independent research. Every course is built on the same mathematical frameworks, computational methods, and scientific thinking used in real THEK investigations.

You don't just study engineering here. You engage with living scientific knowledge — the same frameworks that are running on the planetary monitoring systems of the hiTHEK Center, the AI models of THEK Research Institute, and the seismic intelligence tools developed over 25+ years by M.Sc (TUM). Marcelo Moncayo Theurer. This is the school with the greatest research development.

Full Biography → mmt.hithek.com ↗

Marcelo Moncayo Theurer is a distinguished civil engineer, researcher, and professor whose career spans three decades of independent scientific investigation, large-scale infrastructure leadership, and university teaching. Holder of a Master's degree in Computational Mechanics from the Technical University of Munich (TU München) and postgraduate training in earthquake-resistant design at BRI-IISEE, Japan and the University of Tokyo, he represents a rare synthesis of European computational rigor, Japanese seismic engineering precision, and Latin American field experience.

As Titular Professor at the Universidad de Guayaquil, Moncayo teaches structural engineering, seismic design, structural dynamics, finite element methods, numerical analysis, reinforced concrete, and physics — directing research groups that produce original scientific work in seismic intelligence and computational engineering.

His engineering career encompasses the direction of Ecuador's largest road tunnel, the design of skyscrapers, the country's longest bridge, and multiple major infrastructure projects totaling over $200 million in construction. This combination of theoretical depth and real-world engineering scale is the foundation of every course in the hiTHEK Academy.

// 004 — Why hiTHEK

The School Where You
Learn & Investigate Simultaneously

The hiTHEK Academy is not a conventional online school with pre-recorded content disconnected from real science. It is an active, research-connected learning environment where every module is built on the same frameworks that M.Sc (TUM). Marcelo Moncayo Theurer uses in real THEK investigations — seismic intelligence, planetary monitoring, structural dynamics, and AI-powered computational modeling.

Students who enroll here engage with living scientific knowledge — directly connected to the planetary data streams of the hiTHEK Center, the mathematical models of THEK Research Institute, and the 25+ years of independent research behind the ecosystem. There is no other engineering academy in Latin America that can offer this depth.

"The only place where you learn and investigate at your own pace — with the most developed research ecosystem in the region behind every lesson."

— M.Sc (TUM). Marcelo Moncayo Theurer
